College Days!

"August 18 2003" ...I can never forget the date, and like me there are many who cant!! It was my first Day in my engineering college!!
After counseling at JEE i got Electronics and Telecommunication branch is a local college.Father was reluctant to send me Outside He said wont be able to cope up with the hostel life outside.N my life was doomed!.How can one live in so much restrictions.I always longed for the breath of fresh air!
On 16th of August,I went to the Old college campus of P.I.E.T,that was functional in a stadium .After a brief introduction,Orientation, expectations and a chance to meet trustees..i saw many of my college mates that day...And I met my best friend Shivani...I had seen shivani many times when i used to roam in my Colony .I got introduced to her personally by a common friend.I ommmited the plan to go to new college building as Ma had some important work.
As per given in the Prospectus, the college was at Outskirt of Rourkela,(My all time favorite)In a place called "Mandiakudar"(Kansbahl)
On that very day , I was supposed to reach college old college campus at 7:30 AM.I was a kinda nervous...It was drizzling outside I remember..and there was lot of suffocation in bus!!!
I was wearing a a salwar with cream n black strips , stiffly tied pony and a small bag to carry!

After studying in one of the best CBSE schools in Town..my expectations were quite high...especially on the college in which i will study..but the moment i stepped my foot in the campus of college !! ?**&^#$$%%%!@ I was shocked....
It was nothing more than a couple of rooms...lousy lavatories !I was just unable to take it...Nothing could be done..coz i was already in the college ..I started crying!!!every day religiously I cried at home .but i knew..i wont be helped..coz it was my mistake of securing less marks in 12th..Father always had very high expectations me.And he couldnt accept the fact that i was not a 9 point scorer!

So I dint had any choice but to prove them that I was still the same !!I gained strength and again resumed my college with only one intention!!!I will study hard harder and hardest....

Studies apart , the college was a nightmare...95% of guys were mirror cracking materials..which we used to say in our dictionary as NALS!!!Disgusting.

Somehow , I managed ! I managed my worst part of life! ! That was one point i appreciate till date when i faced a challenging situation!

Something bigger than being great n famous is learning to live life full of challenges!

GOING BACK HOME!!!

04/11/2009
After 9 months I was finally going home!!!I spend my 23 years being in the same city "Rourkela".Its a beautiful city, full of mountains and greenery!! and after being in a big big metro like Chennai!!! I miss it!!!

I miss all the seasons!!,I miss the fresh air!! I miss mummy and bunty!!!and above all I miss papa!!So many misses!!!After I started working in IBM , I started getting mote far and far from home!!!I am not blaming my work!! but i am blaming my fate!! of not being near to home!!!With all my talks , one can know how home sick I am!!

The enthusiasm that engulfed me for many years!! that one day I will go out and work !! is no more within!I feel tired and unhappy sometimes!!Coz when I go back home!! I dont find anyboody waiting for me!! when I am ill, there is nobody to takecare!!I have become Independent today but I still miss the dependency I had on my parents!!!

This time they wrere waiting wagerly for me too!!!

Drop of life!

I searched !searched !searched!
Deep into the  ocean of love
Found heavy, porous guilts , sunk deep
All salty with tears of pain.....

Found beauty within in colours unimaginable
But ferocity existed ,cruelity was still a part
Hope m not wrong!!!!
Comparing the blue ocean with a loving heart....

Rising tides and sinking waves..
Arent they alike the emotions loving hearts have....
More deep we penetrate darker it becomes!!
Alike the dark secrets we hide in our heart cores...

But then it comes to question...
the salinity of ocean, the aggression this heart bears
alike we cant drink a drop of water.............
Cant we feel a drop of life in loving heart together..???

Strong are the vibes?Chilled are the chimes??
Still is the beauty of coral n still the water shines??
But like tsunami, destroyed a mob of life..
A heavy heart causes destruction..n hurts as sharp knife..

Hearts need not be vast as ocean...
Hearts need not be colourful
Hearts need not be vibratious
Hearts need not be cruel...

It needs to be a lake...
Silent ,sweet , content and reserved
It should have ripples of immotion, slow and spiral,,
It should be the one from whom we get Drop of Life...

True Love is a lake and its the lake that loving heart bears
Its beautiful,clear,alive and sweet
Its every drop is acceptable...
Its the giver of life and love can be true only if it gives life...!!!

Chennai Vs Banglore

1/29/09Distance between Chennai and banglore comes upto 4 hours via car, 6 hours via train , about 1hour by flight , but this small time difference in itself culminates huge differences in culture enviornment.............and of course Climate...
After staying in chennai for over a period of 10 months , i have visited banglore thrice and evry time i go there , i find all that , chennai has never given any one.
The soothing climate n plenty of trees , gardens in banglore can steal any one's heart.....
Whilke chennai , has horrid heat thru out the year , even winters go un noticed....humidity is at its peak , as we go towards the centre of city in chennai its hot hotter and hottest,,,but as we go towards beach , it becomes little cold and mild..but not as banglore....!!
The next best thing in banglore is the crowd .....plenty of mixed indians , a correct blend of culture , people coming from north wont feel awkward there beacaus there are plenty of fair people roaming aside ,travelling in banglore in buses , in local roads , wearing jeans being fashionable , roming in bikes ...its never a issue....
But as we move towards chennai...people can feel themselves as aliens , as the common crowd will satre at them , wearing jeans n styling is sort of a crime it seems , being stylish n maintaining fashion is unacceptable , not only for girls ,,,but for guys too..have seen many trendy guys cut short their hairs only because there managers dont like them to be trendy...(huh..!!)
as u come to chennai , there is a strong demarcation between a NORTH INDIAN and SOUTH INDIAN ....HERE THERE IS FIGHT BETWEEN HINDI THE NATIONAL LANGUAGE  and Tamil thats a regional language!!

While entire India has accepted Hindi..60% of people in chennai dont know himdi ,, and rest , even though they know , they pretend as if they dont....they belong to the educated mass...
I doubt how many of them know the National anthem..!!

Its not beacuse of the people , the illeterate masses that are inocent , but this rude linguistic feeling is inculcated into these masses by the regional parties that are ruling chennai...

How many people in Chennai have noticed Hindi being written on the boards thet show location and routes ,,no sign boards bear hindi...n i must say central government is supporting all these here..

how come these state is so much cut off from the entire nation...how come people over here have visited all the places outside india , but they have never visited places within India...how come they are not aware of capitals of diffeent states.why they feel them selves so inferior to the rest of indians..??All these is not done in a day..but it took years to create such feeling within people of Tamil NAdu...

When i travel in  bus, local trains , go for shopping , i have never seen a smile in any one's face..they are always unhappy..n i dont know why..After coming to chennai , i find so much negative energies accumulating around me..

When people go to a place like mumbai delhi hyderabad , they want to settle down , but chennai ...i dont know why every one coming to chennai hates this place..including me...

Chennai has everything of a metro , all facilities , cheaper petrols, appliances, pubs , discs ,5 start hotels , lmalls .theatres, recreation areas.....but its full of moneyminded people, miser , not spending a penny on clothes, on food..Yearly aadi sale..is the one where they go n shop...the only thing they invest is on land n gold....thats all..so nobody enjoys

One more duiffence in chenai in banglore is auto..while all over india they run on meters.its the only place whre they loot people like anthing...
n if u are from outside n dont know tamil be prepared to par 10 times as the fare..in banglore i travelled in auto for 30 40 rupees, in chennai they willc ahrge 90 100...

when ever i go to banglore , m happy n cheerful,,n in chennai..m turning unhappy ..n sad...
its the people here...who have never accepted us...they are trying to build thei own nation, THAMIL.............

We all love our mother tongue , but hindi is what we all bow down to...but Chennai..is the opposite place...they hate Hindi...not all but yes..they do..while banglore accepts all Chennai rejects all..

So much difference just in span of 6 hours by train, 4 hours by car n 1 hour by flight...

Chennai..N Banglore..!!!

Proud to be an Odiya...????....!!!

Odissa...isn't it the way it should be spelled????how many times have we spelled it correctly...???Being and Odiya has made us feel proud how many times??being a part of culture that's over 1300AD old ,does it cultivates in us any respect for the mother state??I am not asking this question to each and every Odiya within the country ,I am asking this to me too??....Since Childhood I have seen people pronouncing my name as the want, its not swatii n its not swathi..its my name..that my parents gifted me with love with affection...!

Have u met people in life who ask u..."where are u from?"..n u say.."I am from Odisa"and they reply..OOOh...where is Orissa?...I Feel sorry for them..coz the have reduced to a mere toad of well...!!

People know Puri...but they dont know where it is located,.They know Ashoka...but they dnt know that his KAlinga, the famous utkal is today's Odissa..

I know I am getting aggressive..but now after given the right to think..freedom to act..I am free to express my view...

This my question to each and every Odiya person outside .why they hesitate to speak in Odiya .Its a culture we need to prserve , a language we need to teach.I have known parents who didn't even bothered to teach their children the mother tongue they cherished once..

People  are there who being Odiya dnt know to speak it,dnt know the art to write it !Just to portray they are from some high ly sophiosticated venture...and Odiya is too low for them to speak...

So many guud writers and poets:
SriPranab pattnaik,Sri Fakir Mohan,Sri Upendra ....unending lists..Sri Gopabandhu..and many more..........http://www.orissa.net/Links/eminentpersons.asp

I remember I had friends..who being Odiya hesitated to speak !

Respect  ur mother tongue and then only u can be a Indian for true...dnt force any one to imbibe ur culture...but dnt give it up..too...Its Odissi..that the most difficult dance people say...its ashoka...whose pillar whose chakra..is symbol of our nation...be proud..to be the reason of national flag.......

Be proud to be a Odiya..Be proud to be an INDIAN..love ur language..love ur culture,,,n love ur nation..!

Life in Chennai !!!Better half and the Worse half too..

10/10/2008 :Chennai ..or I must say Madras is a place which is though a metro ..has far distinct attributes .In India it has best infrastructure with well laid roads.I must say , Road planning and traffic control is so strong in chennai , that u dnt get stuck in a place.Lots of one ways make the mod moving , though in a slow space , but yes, there are rare chances of traffic blockage. For any person who is going to come to chennai ,there are some facts he or she should know.He will face problems ,but once he tackles it.he will be part of the safest kingdom built in south india.

Most important things you face problem is in language. My advices are.Use as much English as possible. If you want you can use Hindi too.Coz all auto walllas here know Hindi.though they act like they dnt know and will be waiting for you to create some stupid actions.Dnt do that.Use simple terms.like "chalo",Go."i go XXX place","kitna",How much".They will understand. So dnt underestimate them n neither let them over estimate you.Talk in simple English or hindi. If u want to test u can deny giving them money they asked for.,Then may be u can see how they understand what u speak..lol

From station,If u want to go to places best option ,as you have come first time is that of prepaid auto.If u have little bit idea,U can ask whether local train goes to ur destination.U can avail local train from PArk town which is about 500 m from the station. You can search for ur destination , book tickets and move to place. For short route travel,u can always opt for share autos.Private autos will suck about 10 times the fare.Remeber,if u dnt know tamil,u cant bargain , n u cant be on a profitable side.Loacl Buses of MTC also are available,in Ac n non AC.But to have idea of their routes u need to psend some time in chennai. They are also very comfortable n cheap means of transport.

In chennai , the style of leaving is very simple.U might not know , but the person sitting besides you in dhoti, slippers with sack bag may be a millionaire. They are simple people , eat simple food and lead a simple live.

Neraly half of People in chennai do not spend much money on their life style , as u may find in delhi ,or mumbai etc.Neither they have habits of dining outside.Even if they do,,they have selective items like Dosa, idli, and Biriyaani..no out of box...But they spend a lot of money in worship, creating beautiful temples, and ofcourse Gold and Land.

People in chennai are highly rich and self sufficient , hence the crime rate in Chennai is very very low.More over the police force is highly active too.

Things that upset me about chennai is a strong demarcation of north indian and south indian.Dnt feel astonished if u are pointed out as North Indian again and Again.Till now People here do not accept the fact that Hindi is our national language , not a regional language. They are adamant and do not speak hindi , some times i feel Tamil NAdu is another nation outside India ,where I am treated as a foriegner.

From they Day I came to chennai.About dozens of people I have met on road ,starting from Rikshawalas to common mass,to bus conductors ,with whom i talked in Hindi coz i knew they understand. They didn't had any choice coz they have to get the money out of me .But they always made it a point to remind me that i am in chennai and i should learn tamil. And i always have the same answer.."I know our national language Hindi,I know English , Beside it i know my mother tongue oriya , Bengali ? and I dnt need to learn tamil"...

Even it happened once or twice when I aksed some people whether they knew National anthem.
I wonder what central government is doing. The State government here is busy piling votes by making people understand that , tamil is the best language , tamil is the best culture and tamil is a different nation.I feel so helpless. The uneducated mass is voting them blindly.Even I remeber,There was a national level hockey match in Stadium at chennai and national anthem was not played.Only regional song was sung. This was shown on television but no one offended

No doubt the government of Chennai has done so many things for people here that no other metro can imagine of.So many software companies. So many job opportunities. So good infrastructure.Such self sufficient people.

People staying in North India do not come to chennai , beacuse of these reasons of discrimination. And result is what i find Many times The unskilled , undereducated masses, who have done there vocational trainings from some open university are placed in renowned companies. It is my sincere request to all ,who ever get a chance of a job in chennai.do come here,Chennai needs you!!

Chennai is Bad only if u dnt know of the tricks to survive.Chennai has beautiful recreational places like any other metro, hangout places like city centre, spencer plaza, asendas It park, beautiful restaurents like rain forest, delhi dhabba, dhaba express, where u get tasty north indian food, naidu hall, globus, pothys ,sarvana,Discs like dublin,Pasha,HFO,,,you name it n u get it.You have evrything in chennai

If u come to chennai and u are a very outspoken person,Prefer to stay in places like Adyar,T nagar,Nungambakkam,thiruvanmiyur.velachery,alwarpet,mylapore.IT corridor(thorai pakkam, perungudi,Kandanchavadi,)this place is full of north Indian crowd. The best colonies are gandhinagar,Indiranagarwhich are beautful places. You find a lot of trees in chennai. There is a Guindy national Park near IIT chennai and beautiful temples created nearby is worth watching.Inside the city there are endless places u can visit.

Now after living 8 months in this state,I feel i am at home,This is where i belong to , little bit concervative, but growing gradually.I belive , Chennai will change. In its mentality ,In its sophistication. But I wonder Will the simplicity of people exist as it is now? Will they be caring and concerned. Will it be safe any more.

All my anger and frustrations on chennai have ended today, after 8 months.I am in love with this place,Given a chance i wont hesitate to stay in this place.Coz after all adjustments .I feel..this is the best place in India to b in.

Trip To Vellore

Date :02-10-2008 , Thursday
Planning out a Trip to vellore was very difficult as we wanted to cover many places ,but we knew only few places existed in Vellore. The entire trip plan was assigned to me and I wanted to make it as enjoyable as possible. From Chennai , Vellore is about 3 hours by road.If you want you can go by train but to cover several places at your comfort , a Cab is a cheap option. To avoid the journey be tiresome , I decides to start at 8:00 AM.On way you can find several amusement parks like Queens land which u can plan out on any weekend outing. After about 40 min ,we reached Sriperumber.Place where Rajib Ghandhi was killled by a suicide bomber.A big Artfact is being created in his honour.A shilanyas , surrounded by 5 large tombs and a fully carved wall is worth watching. So we spent about 20 min at the place to see and respect the great persona...

Thereafter We moved on TO our journey to Vellore.People Can cover Kanchipuram also,as it will fall on way,but If you want to go for the golden temple at Sripuram , U have to Omit it from itenary , and so i did.moreover , we had already travelled to mahabalipuram n kanchipuram ,which i'lll be jotting down in my next blog.
Before 13 km to vellore ,There comes Rathnagiri. From NH only One can view the beautiful temple on the Right side. This a BalaMurugan temple(Kartikeya temple).MAny other gods are also there. The Priest of this temple is treated as a very holy saint and is visited by people far and near.We just caught a glimpse of him bowed to him as well and moved ahead on our trip.

After Viewing the temple and the exotic scenaries , we went back to the NH and started our journey through the town of Arcot. As we went inside vellore city , we crossed the great CMC hospital which is very famous. Then came the Vellore fort. But as it was our after lunch programme,We went towards Sripuram to visit the Laxmi temple. Its about 10 km from vellore main city.As from resources , the vast temple is constructed with about 600 crores , with 1.5tonn gold.HAven't seen so much gold in the temple. You can enter the money without paying even a penny , but u wont be allowed to goddess laxmi from near.U will be sent away from about 100metres.Also the journey will take about 4 hours to the temple,But if you pay about 250 rupees each then u can go in the temple in special entry and caome back soon .You will be given prassad for free. And allowed to see goddess laxmi from near. There will be arti done for you.People are allowed to go in Batch. This shows a good way of crowd administration and beautifully crafted temple is worth watching.

Then We went to Saravan Bhawan , near CMC hospital for lunch. In chennai , Saravna bhawan is one of the cheapest , and trusted chain of hotels and good where u can find good south indian meals and food at reasonable rate. after a full contended lunch ,We started for the Vellore fort.Which is just in the centre of city.
Rampart of the Fort is worth moving accross. There is a moat in front of the fort..for boating.from the rampart of the fort ,the vellore city can be viewed. The fort dates back to AD.
Inside the fort ,there is a JAlakandeswara temple,Beautiful carvings are the speciality of this temple .Temple has many Gods and Goddeses. The carvings in temple depict some tales of Ramayan , and ancient india.Temple is a must watch.

There are Tippu mahal , St ,John.s Church and Hawa mahal inside the fort as well as archaelogical museum. The fort itself will grab 2 hours .
Then we moved on to visit VIT.As one of my sister stayed there,Its a beautiful institute at par with any management institute.beautifully maintained. It has a beautiful study environment.Felt like i wanted to restudy my engineering again.
Finally we returned from vellore at 7 pm and reached home at 9:30 pm.Though the journey was abit tiring , but trip o vellore will always be a beautiful memory.More over i got loads of praises ,,for being a good guide and making the journey enjoyable.

Hanuman Vatika

In rourkela , one of the biggest attraction today besides the steel plant is The famous Statue of Lord Hanuman which measures 74 feet and 9 inches.I remember i was in standard 4 when it got inaugurated(1994).It was inaugurated by Biju Pattnaik. He came with a helicopter and i was quite fascinated with a helicopter, since then i had rarely seen a helicopter and for me , helicopter was more amusing then the vatika!!!!

Still many tourists who come to rourkela visit this temple. This beautiful garden also consits of temples of lord jagganath, krishna, rama,Maa vaishno devi,Maa vimala>dint remember all,but its a cluster .In midof the beautiful vatika,is a shiva parvati statue and there is a small fountain coming out from Shiva's jatayu!!!
(Depicting Ganga).
It has a very peaceful atmosphere,I remember, i had spent many evenings and mornings in vatika just meditating .I have attending numerous thread ceremonies and marriages there,,its always one of my favorite spot where i love spending time with my family and friends

Merging blogs
